EZRA INSTITUTE OF APOLOGETICS

The Ezra Institute of Apologetics is committed to equipping Teachers, Preachers, Pastors, Leaders, and Evangelists to become Apologists or, “Defenders of the Faith.” We believe that Faith is not a competitor of Logic. (1 Peter 3:15) We choose to:

  • Defend Godliness and not Religiousity
  • Defend the Word of God and not the Words of Man
  • Defend the Great Commission and not Denominational Creeds, Practices, or Traditions
  • Make Disciples by Teaching all that Christ has commanded

The Heart of the Apostolic Church has always been the Message of the Cross, supported and validated by signs and wonders, as opposed to the seeking of the miraculous to justify personal beliefs or dogmatic doctrines.  We emphasize the Majesty of the Message and acknowledge the Insignificance of the Messenger.

Purpose

Defend the Faith

Target

Preachers, Teachers, Pastors, Evangelists, and Leaders

Key Scriptures:

2 Timothy 2:15 (KJV)
Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of Truth.

Malachi 2:6-7 (NASB)
True instruction was in his mouth and unrighteousness was not found on his lips; he walked with Me in peace and uprightness, and he turned many back from iniquity.  For the lips of a priest should preserve knowledge, and men should seek instruction from his mouth; for he is the Messenger of the LORD of Hosts.

Mantra

We recognize all Scripture and all works of our Lord relate back to God’s Eternal Purpose (Ephesians 3:11) – Reconciling all men back to Him through Christ (2 Corinthians 5:18,19)

Mandate

Both Israel in the Old Testament and the Church in the New Testament are called to fulfill two major responsibilities:

1) To be His Witnesses (Isaiah 43:10,12; Acts 1:8) Bind the Testimony and
2) To Obey His Commandments (Deuteronomy 6:1,9; Matthew 28:20) Seal the Law

Method

Every Book of the Bible will be studied within the context of God’s Eternal Purpose and from and expositional perspective.  Understanding the culture and interdependence of the Old and New Testaments is key for the Apologist to be equipped with the knowledge to Defend the Faith.

God’s Eternal Purpose is Systematically revealed and implemented in the “Fullness of His Time”, during significant periods of World History, the History of the Nation of Israel, and the History of the Church.

His law was first revealed in the conscience of the hearts of men, then given to His prophet Moses, for His Nation, Israel, the fulfilled by his Son, Jesus Christ, and given to the Church via the Teaching of Christ.
